Ironwood is a very popular neighborhood featuring an 18-hole, par-72 golf course designed by golfing legend, Lee Trevino. This beautiful course is accented by trees and ponds, and ambles along the Tar River.
Accessible from West Fifth Street just one mile west of the US-264 Bypass, the community entrance features a brick wall entrance sign with a nice water feature. The street is divided with a landscaped median with shrubbery and Crepe Myrtles.
Ironwood has several sections, including Southberry Village which will be to your left as you drive in. This area features upscale brick patio homes with two or three-car garages. Most of these are directly adjacent to the golf course.
The Oaksong Drive area is near the driving range, and features custom-built prestigious homes. Many of these are on wooded lots, and on the golf course.
The newer section of Ironwood is on Golf View Drive and Country Down Drive areas. These are more traditional style homes.
The club house area is on Golf Club Wynd which has a divided median and nice views of the golf course. The club house has a pro shop. There is a practice putting green behind, and the driving range is also adjacent to the club house.
